SUBMISSIONS
Please submit all work here.
Send us a pitch, regardless if you will be submitting completed work.
Pitches will need to include a brief description of your prospective or completed work, including your medium and any relevant links for reference.
Once we have received your pitch, we will review it and reply within 1-3 weeks.
If your pitch is accepted, you will receive feedback, a deadline, and a word count.
Whenever your work is referenced by our collateral platforms (i.e. Instagram), we will always credit you.

SPICY only takes submissions from self-identifying women of color and queer + trans people of color.
Who runs SPICY?
SPICY is run by a team of 20 voluntary community organizers and artists. We all work on SPICY in addition to other jobs or schoolwork. You can learn more about us here.

Unfortunately, SPICY does not accept already published content. However, after we publish content from guest contributors, we do allow them to re-publish their work elsewhere.
How many pieces can I submit to SPICY at a time?
Please only submit one piece of work to us at a time.
Is my content guaranteed to get published?
We hope so! If for some reason it isn’t published, we will let you know why.
What kind of work can I submit?
We take articles, short essays/think pieces, creative writing pieces (poetry, short stories), video, photo, illustrations, paintings, and more. If you aren’t sure, please specify your medium when you fill out the submission form.
